The ack frame sent right after connecting always reports the effective limits of the account you just connected as. Read it at runtime rather than hardcoding this table, since limits can change.

How channels are counted

Channels are counted per account, not per connection. On Starter, ten channels is ten channels whether you open one connection or both; spreading subscriptions across several connections just splits the same budget. Unsubscribing from a channel, or closing a connection, hands its channels straight back. A single station can occupy up to three channels at once: metar.obs.<icao>, metar.forecast.basic.<icao> and metar.forecast.hires.<icao>. Starter’s ten channels are enough for ten stations with one feed each, or five stations with both observations and forecasts.

Changing plans

Upgrades and cancellations are self-service from the portal’s Billing page, backed by Stripe, and propagate to open connections within seconds. When a subscription ends, the account returns to Sandbox; existing keys keep working, scoped back to the demo channel.
